The Medical Clinic in its present form is in existence for the past
four years. Earlier the church used to organize a medical camp once
a year in one of the slum areas of Delhi. Free consultation and free
dispensing of medicines used to be undertaken. Obviously it was not
beneficial because it was being conducted only once a year. Certain
amount of money was budgeted every year for these camps.
The Church Executive Committee felt that it would be more beneficial
to have a medical clinic once a month in the church itself. That is
how the medical clinic came into being.
The objectives of the medical clinic are two fold :-
To provide health
care to the people in the neighborhood of the church.
- To provide health care to the people of
The Facilities provided are :-
- Free consultation both allopathic and Homeopathic
- General checkup including weight and blood pressure
- Lab investigation like:
Dispense commonly needed medicines (both allopathic and
homeopathic) free of charge.
- Blood sugar
- Urine , etc
Through these routine medical check ups many people have
been diagnosed as having hypertension or diabetes at the very early
stages. Early detection of a disease is very important for better
control and prevention of complications.
This year the medical clinic has adopted two chronic patients,
one suffering from diabetes needing medicines and Insulin daily and
the other suffering from Rheumatic valvular heart disease. They need
to take medication on a daily basis. They would have found it very
difficult to manage without the help from the Medical Clinic.
the team :
The Medical Clinic has a team of medical, paramedical and
non medical staff working tirelessly. The Medical Clinic is held
every second Sunday of the month. On Saturday evenings, pamphlets
containing information about the clinic are distributed in the
areas around the church.
a humble beginning : This is just a humble beginning .We
want to bring in specialists like cardiologists, neurologists,
counselors etc from outside the church so that our church members
can be benefited. Our parish has a great medical talent pool. With
the help of the medical and paramedical staff and with the
cooperation of the church members we can diversify further and try
and reach out to more and more people in and around the church.
